Fire Relief Donations for Shebobo Artisans in Madagascar 2025
On November 23rd, 2025, our Shebobo manufacturing facility in Madagascar was devastated by a major structure fire. Thankfully, none of our artisans were injured, but the loss is overwhelming. The entire building was destroyed, along with all of our machinery—sewing machines, steamers, irons—and essential supplies like thread, leather, and raffia. Much of our finished product was also lost in the fire. Our team in Madagascar, made up of over 400 skilled artisans, relies on this facility for their livelihoods. Madagascar is an extremely impoverished community, and the jobs provided by our facility are a vital source of income and stability for many families. Without immediate help, our artisans will face significant hardship as they struggle to recover from this disaster.
We have already sent funds to purchase five sewing machines, but we need to buy at least 23 more, along with other necessary equipment, to get production started again. The costs of rebuilding and restocking supplies are significant. Our goal is to move quickly and efficiently to help our artisans get back to work, support their families, and rebuild their lives. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a direct impact on their ability to recover and thrive.
We are setting up this product page for donations. Feel free to add any amount to your cart as an order & checkout. We have also set up a GoFundMe https://gofund.me/e5b33f3be for direct donations. Moreover, we are offering discounts on our products to help with cashflow and get resources to our artisans more quickly. If you would like to help by purchasing products, please know that this is another meaningful way to support our team.
We work closely with our artisans and are committed to doing everything we can to help them rebuild. We truly appreciate any and all help that is offered. If you would like to contact us directly, please feel free to email, text, or call. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who can help us support our artisans and their community during this difficult time.
